Our Team – Biographical Information
of Key Management and Clinical Staff at the Center
Peter Emilio Zambito, MD, FACC
“My first experience in high school volunteering at a local hospital emergency room was with a patient who had cardiac arrhythmia and was in extreme discomfort. The cardiologist there administered a medication that helped the patient feel better immediately. I was impressed by the rapid results of treatment and rapid improvement in patient status. This had a major impact on my decision to pursue cardiology”.
“I like the vast array of diagnostic and treatment modalities. It’s a challenging field that requires versatility – surgical skills, diagnostic skills, radiology and ultrasound interpretation skills, to name a few. But what I most enjoy are the patient interactions I have in an area most patients consider to be a critical part of their overall health – their heart health. I’m very aggressive in searching for and treating cardiac risk factors. I appreciate patient input and feel it is important to explain in great detail what my diagnostic and therapeutic plan for the patient will mean for their health and quality of life”.
“I hope to give my patients detailed information about their cardiac health and risk factors and prevent complications of heart disease by aggressive, early treatment intervention. I feel I am very patient, especially when conveying difficult or highly emotionally charged information. I’m very comfortable with patients from many different cultures. I can connect with them as a result of my training in an inner-city hospital where I was exposed to many different ethnic populations. It also helps that I speak Spanish fluently.”
